Joint Compliance Audit Committee
Are you interested in making a contribution to your municipality?
The Town of Arnprior, Township of Admaston/Bromley, Township of McNab/Braeside, Horton Township, and Township of Greater Madawaska have formed a Joint Compliance Audit Committee, as required under the Municipal Elections Act. We are seeking applicants to take part in the Joint Compliance Audit Committee for the 2026 Municipal Election. One (1) community member from each municipality will be required.
Purpose of Joint Compliance Audit Committee
The Joint Compliance Audit Committee is responsible for reviewing compliance audit applications submitted by an elector who believes on reasonable grounds that a candidate or third part advertiser has contravened the provisions of the Municipal Elections Act, relating to campaign or advertising finances.
Ineligible Candidates:
- Employees or officers of the local municipality or local board;
- Members of Council or a local board;
- Any persons who are candidates in the 2026 Municipal Election;
- Any persons who are registered third party advertisers for the 2026 Municipal Election
Asset Qualifications:
- Experience in accounting, auditing and legal, as well as knowledge of campaign financing rules would be an asset.
