Zoning By-law Amendment – Block 139, Village Creek Subdivision

Council received a staff report and adopted a By-law amend Zoning By-law 6875-18, for the lands known legally as Block 139, Plan 49M-76, to amend the zoning from Residential Four – Holding One (R4 (H1)) to Residential Three – Exception 41 – Holding 15 (R3*41(H15)) to amend the permitted uses to include single detached, semi-detached and townhouse dwelling units and to implement site specific provisions and alternative development standards including considering the lot one lot for the purpose of the zoning by-law, a width for private roads, and various setbacks.

Draft Plan of Subdivision Conditions Approved – 47-T-22002 – Norma, Ida and Charlotte Street Extensions

Council received a staff report and approved the proposed conditions of draft approval for the Plan of Subdivision which includes the extension of Norma, Ida and Charlotte Streets. These conditions will be provided to the approval authority, the County of Renfrew for consideration.

Awarding of Victoria Street Design – Jp2g Consultants

Council awarded the design of the Victoria Street Reconstruction project to Jp2g Consultants in the amount of $119,977.75 (including HST). The scope of work includes replacement of the watermain, sanitary main, road base, road surface, curbs and sidewalk on Victoria Street from Elgin Street to John Street. The construction project is expected to commence in 2026.

Community Improvement Plan Grant – 134 John St. N Unit B

Council granted a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Financial Incentive Grant under the Signage Improvement Program and Application and Building Permit Fees Refund Program for 134 John St. N Unit C in an amount of up to $550. The project involves installing a sign for a new business, Ottawa Valley Smiles Dental Hygiene.

Proclamations

Council has proclaimed June 2024 as CDKL5 Awareness Month in the Town of Arnprior, encouraging all citizens to participate in the CDKL5 Canada events and to learn more about this rare disorder which affects people in our community.
