Council Highlights for June 12th, 2023

Delegations

Town Council heard delegations from both the Arnprior Skateboard Association and the Arnprior McNab Ringette Association.

Municipal Financial Matters

Council received staff reports on both the 2022 Annual Statement on Development Charges and the Biannual Financial Update to May 2023, which provides Council with a clear picture of the Town’s financial status, identify any financial matters of concern and update Council on progress and improvements made to date on finance related initiatives.

Development Matters

Council lifted 0.3m reserves within the Marshall’s Bay Meadow Subdivision to allow approved development to proceed, as well as approving an increase to the minimum size allowance for a sign proposed at the new French Catholic School Board school being constructed at 240 Baskin Drive West.

Appointment

Council passed a by-law appointing Shelley Mackenzie as the new Town Clerk commencing July 1, 2023.

Grants Awarded

Council approved the waiving of rental fees for various community groups holding events in the coming year:

  • Ottawa Valley Cycling and Active Transportation Alliance – Waive Rental Fees for Nick Smith Centre Community Hall (Trail Towns Conference)
  • Arnprior Braeside McNab Seniors at Home Program Inc. – Waive Rental Fees for Nick Smith Centre Community Hall (Christmas Craft Fair)
  • Arnprior Braeside McNab Seniors At Home Program Inc. – Waive Rental Fees for Robert Simpson Park (Annual Memorial Butterfly Release)
  • St. Andrews United Church – Waive Rental Fees for Nick Smith Centre Community Hall (Christmas Craft Market)
  • Rotary Club of Arnprior – Waive Rental Fees for Robert Simpson Park (Tarts & Arts In The Park)
