Pic-a-Pollinator Contest Winners
For Pollinator Week the Town of Arnprior encouraged all residents to learn more about pollinators, plant native species that support pollinators, support local bees and beekeepers, and continue to promote the health and wellbeing of pollinators in our community. Pollinators move pollen between flowers, allowing plants to reproduce, creating the foundational habitats, food, and shelter that support all other wildlife in the ecosystem.
A pollinator is anything that transports pollen grains from one flower to another including:
• Bees
• Birds
• Bats
• Butterflies
• Moths
• Flies
• Wasps
• Beetles
We asked for participants to take a photo of a pollinator at work and post it in the comments or e-mail it in to be entered into the draw to win a pollinator prize pack. We were blown away by all the amazing submissions and drew for 7 prize packs!
