Ottawa 67’s to host Peterborough Petes September 5 at Nick Smith Centre
The Town of Arnprior is excited to announce that the Ottawa 67’s will host Kaden McGregor and the Peterborough Petes in an OHL exhibition game at the Nick Smith Centre on Saturday, September 5th at 4:00pm. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, July 28th at 9:00am. This game is part of the Grand Opening Weekend for the two arenas following the completion of a $7-million arena revitalization project. More information on other events and activities running September 4-6th will be announced in the coming weeks.
“This is another exciting opportunity to welcome the hockey world to Arnprior,” said Lisa McGee, Mayor of the Town of Arnprior. “The work that has gone into revitalizing our two arenas ensures that we have these critical spaces for decades to come. The youth that will benefit from the investment in the Nick Smith Centre will have the opportunity to see a local athlete like Kaden play in his home community and perhaps one day follow in his footsteps.”
McGregor, a native of Braeside, Ontario, was the 1st overall draft pick by the Peterborough Petes in the 2025 OHL Draft.
The Ottawa 67’s are led by OHL Coach of the Year Dave Cameron and are coming off an outstanding 2025-2026 season reaching the 100-point mark with a 47-15-3 record, good for third in the Eastern Conference. The 67’s return a strong core from last season, highlighted by 2026 NHL Draft picks Spencer Bowes (New York Rangers) and Ondrej Ruml (Colorado Avalanche). Veterans Nic Whitehead and 2027 NHL Draft prospect Kohyn Eshkawkogan are also set to return, while Brock Chitaroni enters his second OHL season after being selected third overall in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming two of the most storied OHL franchises to the Nick Smith Centre to help showcase the upgrades and improvements to our facility,” said Graeme Ivory, Director of Recreation. “These are the types of events we aim to bring to this facility and our community and, like we did in December 2024 when we hosted a pair of World Junior exhibition contests, we’ll be looking to the community for volunteers to help make another memorable moment in Nick Smith Centre history.”
Tickets are general admission and will cost $25.00+HST. Tickets will go on sale at 9:00 am on July 28th at www.Arnprior.ca/67sGame. Only 850 tickets will be available.
Doors will open on game day at 2:30 p.m. so fans can enjoy time at the FanFest in the community hall, watch warm-ups and enjoy other activities throughout the facility.
