Algonquin History along the Madawaska River
Saturday, October 3 | 2:00pm
Arnprior and District Museum, 35 Madawaska Street
As we work to better understand Indigenous history and perspectives, the Arnprior + District Museum is hosting a discussion of Algonquin history along the Madawaska River. Learning about the strong connection between Algonquin Nations and the river helps us better understand regional Land Claim experiences. Our two panelists will also help community members join the Town's new Land Acknowledgment practices and support our shared journey toward Reconciliation. We welcome everyone to this free, public, family event on October 3rd at 2 pm. Refreshments will be served.

During the event, we will have short remarks from Laurie Dougherty, the exhibit's volunteer curator, Janis Hernández, AMBA's Archivist, and Emily Stovel, Manager of Culture and Curator with the Town of Arnprior.
Following the opening, visitors can see the exhibit anytime during the Museum’s opening hours, Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 – 4:00.
