The Town of Arnprior will be hosting a multi-cultural Night Market on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 4pm to 11pm in the downtown core of Arnprior. The Night Market will feature vendors and artisans, as well as live entertainment, art installations, and more! The goal of the multi-cultural event is for attendees to become more acquainted with and celebrate the rich diversity of their neighbours and beyond.

Alfred has lived and painted in the Algonquin region, all of his life. An autodidactic approach to Art History, Alfred has been influenced by the Romantic, Impressionist, and Modern Periods, including - Wm. Blake, Van Gogh, Munch, Picasso, and Matisse. Closer to home, he has found kinship in the work and lives of Emily Carr, Alex Colville, Jean Paul Riopelle, and Glenn Gould. Alfred has his first solo international exhibition in 2017 at the historic Scottish Arts Club during the Edinburgh International Arts Festival in Scotland. His work is in collections both public and private, including Government of Canada, Massey College (U of T), Toronto Dominion Bank, McMaster University of Fine Art, Hamilton, Paul R. Clara Kim |
Ottawa based artist, Clara Kim, was born in South Korea. She has been influenced by both the ancient Korean arts and contemporary western sensibilities and strives to bring together these two separate philosophies. She chooses to paint with a knife rather than a brush, drawing heavily from the oriental style, but aiming to express a western feel. Clara captures the emotions of human nature into these animals, representing the many people who live in a competitive society while satirizing our short-sightedness of the future. Kasia Niton |
Kasia is a multi-disciplinary artist and the creative mind behind Sunny Street Studio, specializing in illustration, design, murals, window art, and more! Since graduating from Sheridan's renowned Bachelor of Animation and Bachelor of Illustration programs, Kasia has worked as a professional artist in many different capacities and with clients from across the glove in a wide variety of industries. Drawing much of her inspiration from nature, Kasia is passionate about sustainability and representation, often tying these themes into her work. When she's not pushing pixels, pencils, or paint, Kasia enjoys travelling and spending time in the great outdoors - especially on a bike, snowboard, or in a well-worn pair of hiking boots. Kseniya Tsoy |
Kseniya Tsoy, aka @al.fergani, is a community-engaged mural artist originally from Uzbekistan. She is best known for her whimsical collaborative murals where community members are engaged in all stages of the creative process. Kseniya uses vibrant colours, bold minimalist shapes and uplifting messages to create whimsical and playful paintings that inspire joy. Sanjay Sundram |
Sanjay Sundram studied architecture at the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi and completed his Masters of Design from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. He lives and works in Ottawa having moved from Delhi in 2013. Sanjay's paintings have been described as hallucinatory urban landscapes and are inspired by the intersection of built spaces in the natural world. Sanjay has participated in solo and group exhibitions in the UK, the US, Italy, India, and Canada. Given the environmental themes, his work has been collected by the Worldwide Fund for Nature, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and the Fortis Foundation, among others. His work in Art and Design has also been featured in publications such as Art in America, Platform and at the AVANCA Int'l Festival of Film and Multimedia. Awards include the SIIA Codie award USA, the British Education and Training Technology (BETT) award, and WOLCE UK awards. Steph Babij |
Stephanie Babij (she/her) is an urban-Indigenous visual artist of Ojibwe and mixed-settler heritage. Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, with maternal roots in Wikwemikong Unceded First Nation, she now makes her home in Unceded Algonquin Territory/Ottawa. Stephanie's visual arts practice includes acrylic paintings, murals, and wood burnings crafted from fallen trees. Her self-taught artistic expression reflects both her personal healing journey and cultural reclamation. Stephanie's visual storytelling is guided by her dreams and awareness of her subconscious. Through her art, Stephanie blends her background in environmental science with her deep love of the natural world. The pieces that Stephanie creates call people to honour their relationship with the land and welcome dialogues about climate justice and living ethically with creation. Suman Sundram |
Suman studied Fine Arts at the Delhi College of Arts, one of the most prestigious art institutes in India. She was a founding member of the 'Group 8' collective artists in India. Her paintings have been exhibited at various public and private galleries in the country, as well as in Art Fairs. Her works are in prestigious collections including the Delhi Governor's, the National Gallery of Arts, and numerous private collections. She received the All India Fine Arts and Crafts (AIFACS) award for her work in printmaking. She has divided her time recently between Ottawa, Milton Keynes, and Delhi, and immigrated to Canada in 2019. She has lived in Ottawa since then and has exhibited her works at juried shows at Shenkman Arts Centre, at the Ottawa City Hall, and numerous other venues in and around Ottawa.
