The Town of Arnprior is pleased to announce the appointment of Deputy Fire Chief/Fire Prevention Officer (FPO), Richard (Rick) Desarmia, as Arnprior’s new Fire Chief. Council approved the appointment at its meeting on Monday August 23rd, 2021, following the retirement earlier this year of Chief Jeff Crawford.

On behalf of Council and staff of the Town of Arnprior, I wish to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Jeanette Grant. Jeanette, who passed away earlier this week, was a long-standing member of the Library Board. She was also awarded the Town’s Volunteer of the Year award in 2018 in acknowledgment of the valuable volunteer work she did for our community. We are grateful for her dedication to the Town and its residents.

On behalf of Council and staff of the Town of Arnprior, I wish to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Hyacinth Chatterton. Hyacinth who passed away late last week, was a former teacher and popular line-dancing and tennis instructor to many. Along with her fundraising and event organizing, Hyacinth was recently appointed to our library board and was the Senior of the Year in 2013. We are grateful for her dedication to our community.
