The Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) will provide sound advice and recommendations to Council related to environmental issues including sustainable practices, conservation, alternative energy solutions and environmental regulations.
Meetings |
Meetings of the EAC are held monthly between March and November of each year. Please consult the Calendar of Council and Committee Meetings to find out when the next meeting is. You can also explore past and present meeting agenda packages and minutes. All Council and Committee meetings held by the Town of Arnprior are open to the public, unless noted otherwise. Council appoints up to seven (7) members to the CDAC for a four-year term to coincide with the term of Council which includes two (2) Members of Council and up to five (5) Citizen Members. The current EAC membership includes:

Our Approach |
The Arnprior Environmental Advisory Committee values engagement as a tool to encourage discussion and increase the community's capacity to inform policy. We do this in three ways:

Focus Areas |
Support Biodiversity
The committee’s goal is to implement projects that protect and enhance native plant and wildlife habitats, promoting biodiversity through community engagement, education, and habitat restoration projects.
Healthy Waterways Management Our role is to advocate for best practices in watershed management, including pollution reduction initiatives and the preservation of natural waterways, to ensure clean and sustainable water resources for all.
Waste Reduction Initiatives The committee is looking at developing and promoting strategies to reduce waste at the community level, including recycling programs, composting initiatives, and educational campaigns that encourage sustainable consumption.
Carbon Footprint Reduction The committee’s goal is to collaborate with residents to promote reducing greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy sources, active transportation and community education.
