Outdoor Rinks Update - January 12th, 2024

Town crews are working hard to get our outdoor rinks open for use, particularly the Sullivan Rink of Dreams at Legion Park for the upcoming Optimist Winter Carnival, but they aren’t ready just yet.  We would ask that the public continue to remain off the rinks until they are officially open. Thank you for your patience.

Fatal Structure Fire in Arnprior

At approximately 8:20pm last evening, the Arnprior Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Elgin Street West in Arnprior.

Upon arrival, one resident was unaccounted for and discovered to be in the building. Suppression and rescue operations began, the fire was extinguished, and the resident was rescued from the building and transported to local hospital and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Three other residents are known to be displaced at this time.

2024 User Fees and Charges By-Law

Take Notice that pursuant to Section 391 of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Arnprior intends to consider a by-law to adopt a proposed new User Fee and Charges By-Law for services provided by the municipality.

The staff report to explain the proposed by-law will be included on the January 29th, 2024 Council Agenda beginning at 6:30 PM, with the by-law being considered by Council at their Regular Meeting of February 12th, 2024 beginning at 6:30 PM.
