Welcome to Canada Day in Arnprior, presented by Pillar 5!

July 1 in Arnprior is always a very busy day. Between the activities hosted by the Town and the many service groups and businesses participating, there is more than enough for everyone.

Due to extreme heat in the forecast, many of the Canada Day activities will take place at the Nick Smith Centre, 77 James Street.

Live Music

 The Live Music stage will be in the Community Hall of the Nick Smith Centre, 77 James Street.

AnjChito is a dynamic and high-energy quartet that blends r&b, jazz, bossa nova, blues, funk, pop, and reggae into a distinctive and engaging sound. Their live sets include a mix of original compositions and genre-spanning covers, drawing from a repertoire that pays tribute to artists such as Sade, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Alanis Morissette, Simply Red, Steely Dan, Meghan Trainor, etc. Each AnjChito performance delivers a compelling musical journey, rhythmically rich, emotionally resonant, and always memorable

Mountain Turn is a band based out of the Arnprior Ontario area that performs cover tunes from a wide variety of music genres. The band covers songs by artists such as John Prine, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Eddie Cochran, The Travelling Wilburys, The Allman Brothers Band and many more. Mountain Turn is also proud to include several original songs in their set lists, previously released on the album “The Story”. No matter what song Mountain Turn is performing, the main ingredient is always “a groove”…..something that captures the attention of the audience and also moves them with the simple joy of music. 

The Priorities ~ Rhythm & Blues and Soul

An Eight Piece band based in Arnprior, when The Priorities are cookin’ they really heat things up!

They do it with their superb covers of great Rhythm & Blues artists such as James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Fontella Bass, Sam & Dave, and many more.

Main Street will be presenting a variety of our students and teachers performing solo, duets and bands in many genre’s. Featuring D’Arcy Kaerbye with Teachers band, Ryan Hammond, Liam Richard, Maxine Butler, Interstellar Squirrels and more! These guys are really good - come check it out!

Fireworks

 Fireworks are displayed off the island by the weir at dusk, roughly 9:45pm. Your best view point is Hydro Park East, 70 Madawaska Boulevard.

Transportation

To help you get place to place, the Town has provided a shuttle bus from 11:00am - 5:00pm. The bus stop locations are listed below with the shuttle running to each stop every 20 minutes.

If you are driving to the fireworks please note that Albert Street is closed between Victoria Street and Church Street for construction.
