Community Challenge

Priorpalooza

The annual summer staple is back but this time we are at McLean Park. Take in a day of live music, food vendors, Optimist Club Kid’s Zone, PaddleFest, Volleyball and more on June 6 from 12-9pm.

Girls Sports Program

As part of grant funding from Canadian Tire Jumpstart, the Recreation Department will be launching a new girls only sports program. This weekly program will run on Thursday evenings and rotate sports. Lead and coached by female Recreation Staff and coaches, this program is for girls, by girls. Open to ages 4+ and accepting volunteer coaches, learn more and register at Arnprior.ca/YouthClub

Summer Camp

Camp Wanna-Go is nearly sold out with many weeks close to capacity. Spend the summer with us at the Nick Smith Centre and all of the adventures we embark on. Arnprior + District Museum Summer Experimentation Station registration is NOW OPEN! We make films, build planets, measure slime, joust in giant cardboard castles, and break pirate codes! Our summer camp fosters cooperation and creative problem-solving across History, Art, and Science indoors and outdoors all summer long. Full weekly theme descriptions will be available in May, but every day runs from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, June 29 to August 28 (Extended hours 7:45-4:30 available for an additional fee).

Registration Dates:

Aqua Fitness & Private Lessons

• Residents: June 15 at 9:00 AM
• Non-Residents: June 17 at 9:00 AM

Children’s Lessons

• Residents: June 23 at 9:00 AM
• Non-Residents: June 25 at 9:00 AM

Residents are encouraged to create an online account in advance, review registration details, and register online for the best chance of securing a spot. If you need to update your address or date of birth, please contact recreation@arnprior.ca.

The Robert Simpson Park Beach officially opens for the season on Friday, June 26, and our dedicated lifeguards will be ready to ensure your safety and enjoyment all summer long! The beach will be guarded daily from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Renfrew Resident Rate Reminder

To qualify for the Renfrew resident rate, you must update your address annually by emailing a copy of your tax bill to recreation@arnprior.ca. This ensures you are not charged the non-resident rate, which is 50% higher.

New to Arnprior Swimming Lessons?

If you have taken swimming lessons elsewhere, please email a copy of your previous registration or report card to recreation@arnprior.ca, or visit us for a free swim assessment. This will allow you to register online in the appropriate level.

Youth Programs

The school year may be coming to a close but there are still many programs to keep your youth active.

Join the afterschool program in June without needing a membership and check out the PA Day Camp on June 5. Limited space remains in Youth Ball Hockey and Beach Volleyball. Learn more and register at Arnprior.ca/Programs

Older Adults Club

Spring/Summer Ice Availability

Looking for ice times this Spring? Both arenas will be operational until May 15. View Spring Ice Availability or reach out to recreation@arnprior.ca to book.

Ice allocation for Summer Ice time is underway. If you’re looking for ice, please complete theSummer Ice Intake Form.

NSC Arena Revitalization

Work continues on the mezzanine and meeting room space which will open this summer. An official grand opening is planned for early September. Stay tuned for details and visit the project webpage at www.Arnprior.ca/ArenaRevitalization to learn more. 

New & Improved Skate Park

Construction on Arnprior's new skate park is well underway and will be ready for lots of use this summer. We'll have plenty to announce in the coming weeks about the grand opening event and our major Park Sponsor! Visit www.Arnprior.ca/SkatePark for project information. 

Refresh RSP 

The Refresh RSP (Robert Simpson Park) project will get underway later this month. This will deliver a new splash pad, play structure, swings and play amenities; pathways connecting park amenities coupled with lighting and seating. Throughout this project, the washrooms, beach and parking will remain operational. More details on this project are available at www.Arnprior.ca/RefreshRSP.

Off-Leash Dog Park

Arnprior's first Off-Leash Dog Park will open later this summer. Groundwork is currently underway at this location at McLean Park, adjacent to Wayne Lavallee Field. Stay tuned for information on park rules, hours of use and opening date!
