Nick Smith Centre Arena Revitalization Project Update

The Glenn Arthur Arena re-opens Thursday evening following a 7-month revitalization project. We’re excited to welcome the public back inside the arena. The following outlines what you can expect to see, some work still to come and housekeeping items as we return to operations.

What to expect

- New arena floor and refrigeration lines

- New boards, glass and protective mesh

- New arena stands and comfort heating

- New rubber flooring

- Roof truss rehabilitation

- Refreshed dressing rooms (new benches, new paint)

What’s still to come

- New scoreboard (temporary scoreboard currently in place)

- Alterations to existing arena stands to support access into Pro Shop and Meeting Room

- Further accessibility enhancements

- New doors

- Further cosmetic enhancements (painting)

- New floor in Glenn Arthur Arena lobby and dressing room hallway

- Mezzanine Viewing Windows (overlooking Glenn Arthur Arena)

NSC Housekeeping

- Bert Hall Arena remains an active construction site and is off limits

- Glenn Arthur Arena can be accessed from the hallway off the main entrance or through the side entrance of the building (via the Glenn Arthur Arena lobby)

- The alternate change room remains under renovation

- The referee room is unavailable until Bert Hall Arena re-opens

- Users needing use of the scoreboards need to sign-out the controller at the front desk

- Public are not permitted beyond the spectator stands. The Zamboni ramp and spectator goal end is off limits

- The Canadian Pro Shop is currently operating off-site. You can reach out to them via their Facebook page to schedule off-site sharpening. They will return to operations in the arena sometime in October.

- The Canteen will return to regular operations when Bert Hall Arena Re-Opens
