Recognitions
Council recognized Emily Stovel, Manager of Culture/Curator for receiving the 2025 Culture Connector Award presented to by the Local Immigration Partnership of Renfrew for her dedication and efforts to see the Town of Arnprior thrive as a hub for community to share and come together.
Council also recognized three local recipients of the Enterprise Renfrew County Summer Company program. The Summer Company is an Enterprise Renfrew County training, mentoring & funding opportunity designed to guide students aged 15 to 29 in starting their own summer business with grant assistance. Through the Summer Company program, participants receive start-up money to kick-off a new summer business, as well as advice and mentorship from local business leaders to help get the business up and running. While learning how to run their own student business, these young entrepreneurs develop highly useful skills in the areas of sales, marketing, bookkeeping, customer relationship management and networking.
Local students Emmanuel Young from Manny's Mowing, Paige Hodgson of Paige’s Projex and Minnah Rehan of NoorHenna were participants in the 2025 Summer Company program. More information about the program can be found at https://www.enterpriserenfrewcounty.com/summer-company.
Delegation - The Longer Table Arnprior
Jennifer McGuire, Chair of the non-profit organization, the Longer Table Arnprior, provided Council with an overview of the organization, its goals and achievements to date. The group is happy to have volunteers reach out and see how they can become involved in this worthwhile organization. Check them out on Facebook.
Presentation – Fall Programming and Events
Program and Events Supervisor Lucas Power provided Council with an overview of the events happening this fall in Arnprior, along with programming for youth and older adults, swimming and much more.

By-laws and Proclamations
Council passed by-laws allowing for a sign exemption for 205 Madawaska Blvd (Wes’ Chips), as well as lease agreements for the operation of the PRO Shop and Canteen at the Nick Smith Centre.
Council proclaimed October 5th to 11th, 2025 as “Fire Prevention Week” in the Town of Arnprior and urges all residents and visitors to buy only listed products, charge devices safely, and dispose of/recycle batteries responsibly, and support the many public safety activities of the Arnprior Fire Department during Fire Prevention Week and all year long.
Council proclaimed September 28th, 2025, as “Test Your Smoke Alarm Day” in the Town of Arnprior and urges all local residents to test the smoke alarms in their residence by pressing the test button, replacing the batteries and making sure that they are in good working order.
Council proclaimed November 1st to 7th, 2025 as “Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week” in the Town of Arnprior and urges all residents and visitors to participate in the outreach activities planned by the Fire Prevention / Protection Officers to highlight the simple steps that everyone can take to limit the risks posed by carbon monoxide to themselves and their families.
Council proclaimed September 14th, 2025 as “Terry Fox Day” in the Town of Arnprior and call upon all residents to participate in the Terry Fox Run to raise funds for cancer research. A Flag Raising Ceremony for Terry Fox Day will be held on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, prior to the event, to raise further awareness for the Terry Fox Run being held at Robert Simpson Park on Sunday, September 14th, 2025.
