Council Highlights - June 23, 2025

Fire Department Retirements

• After 35 and 23 years respectively, Barry Burnette and David Wiggins have retired from the Arnprior Fire Department. Mayor McGee and Council thanked them for their many years of service to the community and wished them well in the next chapter of their lives.

Fire Department Provincial Fire Service Awards

• Fire Chief Rick Desarmia and Captain Jim Herbert were both presented the Provincial Fire Service Award for their more than 25 years of continuous service.

2024 Audit Findings Report

• KPMG provided an overview of their 2024 Audit Findings Report which included a review of financial statement highlights and other auditing procedures.

Staff Report: Improvements to Zoning By-Law and Official Plan Amendment Processes

• Council approved the changes staff proposed to the Zoning By-Law and Official Plan Amendment process which will see timelines shortened in some cases and will streamline the application process for applicants, staff and Council.

Biannual Financial Update

• The General Manager of Client Services/Treasurer provided Council with the Bi-annual Financial Update detailing budgeted revenues received and budgeted expenses expended up to May 31, 2025.

Water Financial Plan

• Council accepted the Water Financial Plan which forecasts the capital, operating and reserve fund positions, provides detail on inventories, forecasting future volumes and the calculation of the rates.
