Ontario Investing $1 Million to Support Nick Smith Centre Arena Revitalization Project

ARNPRIOR, ON – The Province of Ontario today announced the investment of
$1 million to support the Nick Smith Centre Arena Revitalization Project through the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF). Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP Billy Denault was on hand to make the announcement at the Nick Smith Centre as work continues on the $7-million project.

Nick Smith Centre Arena June Update

Glenn Arthur Arena: The concrete apron (perimeter of the rink) and the rink slab is currently being rebuilt. A two inch layer of sand has been rolled over a layer of compacted granular material and heat pipes have been placed as well as pressure tested. These heat lines ensure that frost does not penetrate into ground below the rink slab so that the possibility of the rink slab heaving over time is mitigated.
