Service Disruption - NSC Main Parking Lot and Pool Closed until 5:00 pm

Nick Smith Centre Update – August 13

Due to facility construction, the main parking lot and pool will be closed until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 13.

We’ve added an extra Lane/Public Swim from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm on this date.

Camp Wanna-Go will continue as scheduled. If you’re dropping off or picking up a child, please use the parking spaces at the front of the building.

Public Service Announcement - Paving Company Approaching Residents

Please be advised: a paving company is reportedly approaching residents near County Road 2 (Daniel Street) in Town of Arnprior, claiming to be connected to local roadwork.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 with the County of Renfrew or R.W. Tomlinson Ltd., the official contractor for the current rehabilitation project.

If you're approached, proceed with caution.

Parks Update - July 25, 2025

Repairs and maintenance have been completed at several Town properties in the wake of last night's storm.

The following areas will re-open at 4pm today: 

• Robert Simpson Park (Park and Beach)
• (Lifeguards will return to duty at 11am on Saturday)
• Waterfront Trail
• McLean Beach 

The following locations will remain closed until further notice: 

• Albert Street Cemetery
• McLean Ball Diamond #2

Thanks to our Public Works Staff and Parks Staff for their efforts in returning these parks to operations. 

Nick Smith Centre Arena July Update

Glenn Arthur Arena:
The subgrade works are now complete and insulation is nearing completion. The sand under each piece of styrofoam insulation must be levelled carefully by hand with elevations checked constantly. Each joint is then taped and a second layer of styrofoam is added on top with joints going the opposite direction. Multiple Locations Closed Due to Storm Damage

Due to damage sustained during Thursday night’s storm the following locations are closed until they are declared safe:

- Robert Simpson Park
- Robert Simpson Park Beach
- Waterfront Trail between the boat launch and Robert Simpson Park Beach
- McLean Park, McLean Beach, and Ball Diamond #2
- Albert Street Cemetery
- Malloch Road Cemetery

The Town will provide updates later today on the status of these locations. Until such time, we are asking the public to stay out of these areas.
