Whereas the Town of Arnprior is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all those living in and visiting Arnprior; and

Whereas fire is a serious public safety concern both locally and nationally, and homes are the locations where people are at greatest risk from fire; and

Statement from Mayor McGee: Galilee Lands Potential Development

I am writing this to provide clarity on an issue that has gathered increasing attention in recent days. Namely, the recent sale and speculation regarding some of the lands surrounding the Galilee Centre at 398 John Street in Arnprior.  

The Galilee Centre lands are zoned a combination of Future Development (most of the site) and an area along the Ottawa River shoreline as Environmental Protection. As such, an amendment to the zoning by-law would be required prior to any development of the lands....
