Salary: $40,050 - $47,117 annually (Grade 4)
Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Cashier Receptionist, Accounts Receivables (‘A/R’) provides a wide variety of administrative and clerical support to the Finance Branch.
The primary responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Provide excellent customer service and enhance the customer service experience.
- Provide daily administrative and clerical support to the Finance Branch.
- Answer phones and be the primary contact for public enquiries in regards to Municipal services provided by the Finance Branch.
- Collect payment and prepare receipts for Municipal services.
- Manage accounts receivables for the services offered by the Municipality.
- Handle receipt of cash and payments.
- Verify and reconcile account receivables and identify and record discrepancies.
- Enter account information, data into finance software applications.
- Maintain accurate files and record management systems.
- Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of:
- Post-secondary courses with an emphasis in office administration, accounting, and/or related field.
- Three (3) to six (6) months of general accounting and customer service experience.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems including managing files and records.
- Working familiarity of applicable Municipal, Provincial and Health and Safety legislation and with corporate policies and procedures to provide administrative and clerical support.
- Understanding of basic cash handling, and general accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to use various software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, record management systems, and accounting software.
- Customer service skills with ability to assess customer needs to meet effective service delivery standards.
- Able to work independently or in a team environment.
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to prioritize, set schedules, handle multiple projects and competing demands, and meet deadlines.
- Able to follow directives, and work within internal operating procedures, policies, guidelines, and adhere to applicable legislation and regulations.
