Santa Claus is coming … to the Nick Smith Centre!
Don’t miss the opportunity to see Santa Claus from the comforts of your vehicle on Claus, Claus 4 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. In the Nick Smith Centre parking lot. Don’t forget to bring your wish list for Santa and a non-perishable food donation for the Arnprior food bank!

Christmas Lights Contest
The town of Arnprior’s annual Christmas lights contest is underway. Help spread the holiday spirit throughout Arnprior. Registration is now open and closes at on Christmas 14. For contest details or to submit your application click here . We’ll also have a google map outlining all the participating locations so you can enjoy a walk or drive to see the lights!

Christmas Crafting for Kids
get ready for the holiday season with our Christmas crafting for kids packages. Each week we’ll have a pair of crafts for you to assemble at home that will help your kids get ready for Christmas! Order online and pick-up at the Nick Smith Centre . A new package gets unwrapped every Thursday at 9:00 a.m. There are still some packages left from session 1 that feature a Santa binoculars! Have them ready for Santa’s drive by visit with Santa.

Winter Program Registration – Fitness and Sports Programs
Online registration for fitness and sports programs will open Santa, Santa 15, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Fitness and sports programs will include: youth kickboxing, adult kickboxing, falls prevention, yogalates, pilates, parent with tots and seniors skates, badminton, pickle ball with more programming to come! Watch for an email later this month with more updates!

Winter Program Registration – Pool Programs
Registration for pool programs (lessons and aquatic fitness) will open online Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. You will be able to view the program offering and schedules online the week of December 20.

Monkey Rock Music is Coming to Arnprior!
Monkey rock music is a fun, entertaining and creative participatory music program for young children and their adult caregivers. This program will run every Thursday from January 6 – March 24 in the community hall with three sessions: 1-2 years (10:00 a.m.); 2-4 years (10:45 a.m.); and 0-1 years (11:30 a.m.). Pool Update:
our pool calendar and programs have undergone some changes and updates. Beginning in January, you can expect the following:

• lane swims seven days a week
• expanded swimming lesson times and capacity. Lessons will continue run Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings
• new this year is pre-school lessons on Tuesday and Thursday mornings
• adult lessons offered Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons
• senior swims per week (plus two more through your membership at the seniors active living centre)
• the re-introduction of both leisure swims and parent and tot swims.
• weekly therapy swims that cater to participants wanting to focus on water therapy for pre-surgery, post-rehab or physical and mindful fitness
• sea kayaking fundamentals course returning on Sunday’s and watch for another date to be added to this popular program

Holiday Skates & Swims:
Online registration for the holiday skates and holiday swims will open December 15, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. We’ll have a variety of public skates, public swims and family swims scheduled every day that we’re open between December 20 – January 2. Capacity for these events are restricted to 30 participants. Advance registration is required.

Ice Rentals:
Looking for extra ice time for your team or just a get together with family and friends? Ice availability can be viewed online, anytime. We also offer a 30% discount for last minute ice!

Lending Hub:
It’s never been easier for you to get active this winter. Our lending hub winter equipment inventory has expanded and we are ready for snow and ice! Equipment available to borrow includes x-country ski sets (select sizes), Nordic poles, snow shoes, ice skates and helmets … and it’s free! Outdoor Rinks:
We’re watching the weather closely to begin ice building at our outdoor rinks. Locations include: the Sullivan rink of dreams at legion park, boarded rink at sergeant Howard Slater park in village creek and the puddle rink at Caruso street park. Please watch for updates on the Arnprior Life Facebook page and please remain off the surfaces when staff are building ice until they are officially open.

Nick Smith Centre Holiday Hours:
Please note that the Nick Smith Centre is closed on December 24 (afternoon), 25, 26, 31 (afternoon) and January 1.
