The Town of Arnprior has a variety of advisory committees and boards that help to advise Council on important issues. Everyone is welcome to attend committee meetings to stay up to date on municipal information.
The Town is now seeking applications for appointments to Advisory Committees for the remainder of the 2022-2026 term of Council. If you wish to play a key role in future of our community and would like to have your name considered for appointment to any of the advisory committees, please follow the following appointment process.
Step 1: Apply |
Committee Member Applications are now closed Public applications are open from Monday, January 15th, 2024 at 8:30 AM to Friday, February 2nd, 2024 at 4:30 PM. The application process will be completed through a dedicated webform. Please fill out all required fields on the online application form. |
Step 2: Review by Staff and Council |
All applications are reviewed by Town staff and Council to determine successful applicants.

Step 3: Formal Appointment |
At the February 26th, 2024 Regular Meeting of Council, Council will consider an appointment by-law to formalize its committee member selections. The Clerk's Office will notify all applicants of Council's decision. If you are appointed by Council, you will be contacted directly regarding next steps and onboarding procedures. This will include signing an acknowledgement form related to the Council Code of Conduct. |
Step 4: Attend First Committee Meetings |
Advisory Committees are tentatively scheduled to start in March 2024.

Who can apply to sit on an Advisory Committee? |
You must live or own property within the Town of Arnprior in order to volunteer on an Advisory Committee. We encourage you to submit an application to serve as a committee member if you have:

What is the time commitment of a Board or Committee member? |
Advisory Committees will meet on a monthly basis between March and November of each year (except July and August). The amount of time and effort involved in being a committee member may vary depending on the type of committee and time of year. Before each meeting, you should expect to review the agenda and any related documents. |
Is there any remuneration offered for committee representatives? |
Appointments to Committees of Council are on a volunteer basis and no remuneration is available for committee members. |

Council adopted By-Law No. 7453-24 (Advisory Committee Terms of Reference) which contains the mandates, goals, membership criteria and procedures for each Advisory Committee. |

Accessibility and Age Friendly Advisory Committee |
The Accessibility and Age Friendly Advisory Committee will provide sound advice and recommendations to Council related to the accessibility of Town programs, services and facilities for all users. They will also serve to promote and facilitate a barrier-free and age friendly community by assisting in the removal and prevention of barriers faced by persons with disabilities and the creation of programs and services that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors of all ages. Culture and Diversity Committee |
The Culture and Diversity Advisory Committee will provide sound advice and recommendations to Council related to cultural programs and activities and diversity, equity and inclusion across the Town of Arnprior and in the community. They will also advise the Town on actions that can be taken to build a more inclusive, respectful and safe community where everyone has equitable opportunities to thrive in our community. Environmental Advisory Committee |
The Environmental Advisory Committee will provide sound advice and recommendations to Council related to environmental issues including sustainable practices, conservation, alternative energy solutions and environmental regulations. |
