2021 Construction Update

Road construction season is ramping up in the Town of Arnprior! The below project timelines are currently anticipated for 2021, however please be advised that schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, changes in the provision of materials and/or availability of staff. The Town of Arnprior asks for everyone’s help in ensuring safe and efficient work zones. We encourage residents to avoid all construction zones, however, should residents be travelling within the construction zones we urge you to proceed with caution and follow the directions provided by traffic control personnel and posted construction signage. We ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation during the construction season, however, should a member of the public have any concerns or questions of a general nature, please contact the Operations Department.

Burwash Street Resurfacing (John Street to Albert Street)

D Squared Construction is currently underway with curb and sidewalk repairs and are preparing for the resurfacing of Burwash Street. Paving is tentatively scheduled for the week of May 17th and the project is anticipated to be complete by the early June.

Alicia Street Reconstruction (Division Street to McLachlin Street)

Primrose Construction will be commencing works during the week of May 17th beginning with the installation of new sanitary sewers throughout the limits of the project followed closely by the replacement of the watermain beginning on approximately June 21st. Storm sewer repairs and reconstruction of road, curb, sidewalks, and landscaping will carry through the months of July and August, with a project completion date currently scheduled for September 15th .

Nick Smith Centre Parking Lot

Paving H and H Construction is currently scheduled to begin construction on June 14th with the removal of existing asphalt and concrete in the parking lot. Asphalt paving is anticipated to be placed by mid-July with the project completion date currently scheduled for the end of July.

Cranston Street Resurfacing (Allan Drive to Smolkin Street)

This project is currently being tendered and is anticipated to be undertaken during the months of July and August. In addition to the resurfacing on a portion of Cranston Street, the project will include various other smaller asphalt and sidewalk repairs on other streets in Town including select sidewalk repairs on Daniel Street.

Resurfacing of County Road 1 Elgin Street (Madawaska Street to Usborne Street)

H and H Construction is scheduled to begin this project on July 19th. This project will be undertaken by the County of Renfrew and will include the resurfacing of asphalt road surface along with repairs to curb and sidewalk, with an anticipated completion date of September 15th .
