Landfill Site Hours

 Monday - Wednesday - Friday 9:00a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
 Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Closed Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and Holidays  

Landfill passes may be purchased at the Town Hall during regular office hours or at the Nick Smith Centre. .  Fees are based on the size of vehicle used to haul the material to the site. NOTE: Landfill passes are not available at the landfill site and must be purchased prior to arriving at the site. Garbage bags / cans
  • Two bags per week, per household address - pick up each Wednesday
  • Additional bags require a 'bag tag'.  These are available at the Nick Smith Centre, the Town Hall and the Arnprior Public Library for $2.50 each. 
  • The size of the container is limited to one-half cubic yard (0.4 cubic meters).  Weight criteria for waste containers is 50 pounds (22.7 kg) when full.
  • Composting Information
Large Garbage Items Household appliances such as stoves, couches and mattresses are not picked up at the Town's curb side collection.  Residents must make their own arrangement to have them taken away.  The landfill site will accept large household items with a landfill pass.
Electronic Waste In an effort to reduce the amount of hazardous substances entering the landfill, and to increase waste diversion, the Town of Arnprior is now separating and recycling Electronic Waste that is brought to the landfill by residents. For details, Click Here.

Free Landfill Items Residents can drop off cardboard, leaf and yard waste (including Christmas Trees) at the landfill site.  Please ask the attendant at the site where to drop off these items.  If leaves and yard waste are in biodegradable paper bags, they can be placed in the area set aside at the landfill site.  If they are in plastic bags, then they must be removed from the plastic and disposed of appropriately.
