The Town of Arnprior
works with area municipalities to hold HHW disposal days at
the Renfrew Landfill Site, located at 376 Bruce Street in Renfrew.
The
HHW depot will be open from 8am - 4pm each Tuesday to Saturday from May
19
to August 22, 2009 (Closed
Sundays, Mondays and all statutory holidays).
Residents
of Arnprior, upon showing identification will be welcome to dispose of
the following items: PAINTS,
SOLVENTS, TURPENTINE, DISINFECTANTS, PROPANE TANKS, HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS,
HERBICIDES & PESTICIDES, BATTERIES (HOME AND CAR), POOL CHEMICALS,
VARNISH, ANTIFREEZE, BLEACH, FURNITURE STRIPPERS, DRAIN AND OVEN
CLEANERS, BRAKE FLUID, USED OIL, BBQ STARTER, EXPLOSIVE AEROSOLS.
Please bring
items in original containers if possible. Containers containing
waste may be retained at the HHW Depot site.
This program
is done to redirect household hazardous waste from entering our sewers
and landfill site, and properly dispose of the items collecting in
garages and basements to protect the health of our residents and the
environment.
