Arnprior is blessed with a clean and plentiful water source such as the Madawaska River.  Even though the water is clean, it still must go through a treatment process to meet provincial water quality objectives. The town owns and operates its own water treatment facilities.

The Town of Arnprior, in accordance with the Ministry of the Environment, have completed their plant reports for 2011.  The following reports are available to the public.

Water conservation by-law information

Public works crews are responsible for the operation of the pipes, valves, hydrants and services that make up the water distribution system.  These crews flush and repair water mains at any hours of the day to ensure your water system is reliable.  Tours of the Water Treatment Plant are available on request.  Arnprior Water and Wastewater Rates   and How to read your water meter

Waste Water Collection and Treatment
The Town of Arnprior owns and operates its own Sewage Treatment Facility known as the Arnprior Water Pollution Control Centre.  This facility receives wastewater from residential, commercial, industrial and institutional facilities within Arnprior. The new plant, built in 1997, is 'state of the art' and provides excellent discharge to the Madawaska River downstream of the water supply intake.  Tours of the Water Pollution Control Centre are available upon request.
Roads
When it comes to road maintenance, your Public Works Department is responsible for roadside grass cutting, tree maintenance, debris and litter pickup, asphalt patching, street sweeping, grading, dust control, traffic signs and lights.  Winter control includes plowing, salting and snow removal.

Building Activities
The Chief Building Official administers and provides enforcement of provincial and municipal legislation / regulations with respect to all construction within the Town and is responsible for the management of daily operations.

The Chief Building Official enforces the Ontario Building Code, Plumbing Code and Construction Standards and also acts as Plans Examiner, Building Inspector and Plumbing Inspector

Planning Services
The main processes of the town's planning services include: Official Plan amendments, zoning by-law amendments, site plan control applications, subdivision proposals and part lot control, committee of adjustment and severances; minor variances; legal non-conforming uses.
Cemeteries
The Town of Arnprior operates and maintains two active licensed cemeteries.  One is located on Albert Street within the town boundaries, the other is located on Malloch Road in McNab/Braeside (at 127 Usborne Street McNab/Braeside K0A 1G0 ).  The Town of Arnprior owns a third licensed non-active (future) cemetery located on the Braeside Road.   Cemeteries Rate Structure By-law
