Treatment and Distribution |

Arnprior is blessed with
a clean and plentiful water source such as the Madawaska
River. Even though the water is clean, it still must go
through a treatment process to meet provincial water quality
objectives. The
town owns and operates its own water treatment facilities.
|
|
Public works crews are
responsible for the operation of the pipes, valves, hydrants and
services that make up the water distribution system. These
crews flush and repair water mains at any hours of the day to
ensure your water system is reliable. Tours of the Water
Treatment Plant are available on request.

Water Collection and Treatment |
 |
The Town of Arnprior
owns and operates its own Sewage Treatment Facility known as the
Arnprior Water Pollution Control Centre. This facility
receives wastewater from residential, commercial, industrial and
institutional facilities within Arnprior. The new plant, built in
1997, is 'state of the art' and provides excellent discharge to
the Madawaska River downstream of the water supply intake.
Tours of the Water Pollution
Control Centre are available upon request. |
