| Pet owners
in the municipality should be aware of the following information
about the current animal control bylaw: |
- Each household is only permitted
to have a maximum of two cats and two dogs
- The owner of any dog or cat
shall not allow such dog or cat to run at large.
"At large" shall mean an animal being off the
property of an owner or lessee and not being restrained or
controlled by leash or cage.
- All dogs and cats in Arnprior
must be licensed.
- Fee for dog tags purchased
before March 31st each year: $15 for each spayed or
neutered dog - $20 for un-spayed or non-neutered dogs
- Fee for dog tags purchased after
March 31st each year: $25 for each spayed or neutered
dog - $30 for un-spayed or non-neutered dogs
- Dog licenses expire each year on
December 31st.
- Cat tags are for the life of the cat.
( spayed or neutered: $15, not spayed or neutered: $20 )
- Dogs and cats over the age of
three months must be inoculated against rabies.
- Please bring in a current copy
of your pet's rabies vaccination certificate when purchasing /
renewing a license.
- Dog and cat tags can be
purchased at the Municipal office and the Arnprior Humane Society
on Didak Drive .
- The Arnprior OPP handle "barking dog" complaints.
- Please be a responsible pet
owner when walking your dog or cat and stoop and scoop.
