Marriage Licence Information 

A marriage licences can be obtained from any municipality in Ontario and is valid throughout the Province. (same licence throughout the province). The following are the requirements for obtaining a marriage licence from the Town of Arnprior:

1. Applications will be taken for Marriage Licences between the Hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

2. The licence fee: In Town residents $110.00 (proof of residency required)  Non-resident $125.00  CASH, DEBIT or CHEQUE from LOCAL Bank ONLY. (subject to change)

3. A Marriage Licence can only be issued to the Bride and/or Groom. When completing the application, state all given names.

4. The application must be signed by both parties. If only one person picks up the application, the form will have to be completed and signed by the other person. The application can then be brought back by either party for processing.

5. You will be required to produce both parties Birth Certificates. (current Passport or Baptismal Certificate is acceptable).

6. ARE THERE ANY DIVORCES INVOLVED? If the divorce(s) took place in Canada we will require the ORIGINAL Certificate of Divorce or CERTIFIED COPY BY THE PROPER COURT OFFICER, ISSUED BY THE COURT IN WHICH THE DIVORCE WAS FINALIZED. PHOTOCOPIES AND DIVORCE JUDGEMENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

7. Upon receipt of the completed application form and the required fee the office will issue the licence within 24 hours.

8. The Marriage Licence is valid for 3 months from the date of issue only.

9. Parental Consent is required if applicant is under the age of 18 years.

IT IS SUGGESTED THAT YOU BRING YOUR APPLICATION INTO THE MUNICIPAL OFFICE AT LEAST 3-4 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR WEDDING, TO BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ALL THE REQUIRED INFORMATION.
