E-Waste - Computer towers, printers, scanners, keyboards, phones, fax machines, monitors, CDs, laptops and other electronic devices.
Thank you residents!  In an effort to divert electronic devices from the landfill, the town has been accepting and separating e-waste at the landfill since August 2008.  Since then, approximately 15,000 pounds of e-waste have been diverted from the landfill, decreasing the town's waste footprint.
E-waste will continue to be accepted at the landfill, and tipping fees apply.  Please continue to separate your e-waste from other waste items when bringing materials to the landfill.
Other Green Initiatives
The Nick Smith Centre has had an energy-efficient facelift.  The electrical and mechanical components of the complex have been upgraded with the latest energy-efficient technologies.
The Town of Arnprior has been awarded a grant from Hydro One's Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program (ERIP).  The interior lighting at the Arnprior Public Library will soon be retrofitted to save energy and provide a brighter lighting source.
The Town of Arnprior was awarded a grant from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' Green Municipal Fund to complete an environmental assessment for the future expansion of the Water Pollution Control Centre.
The Town of Arnprior accepts re-chargeable batteries under 5 kg and cell phones.  These may be dropped off for FREE at the Town Hall, NSC, or the Library
The Town of Arnprior operates an excellent two-stream recycling program that accepts several items to help residents reduce their garbage.
