The Town of
Arnprior
can be considered a safe and enjoyable place to live or visit.
People take pleasure in the hospitable and secure life style of
the community. However, emergency planning may be a subject which
many people don’t give considerable thought, or at least until
they find themselves in a situation where they are victims of an
emergency condition.
The Corporation
of the Town of
Arnprior
has taken steps in planning for various types of potential
incidents within the community. The municipality has developed a
risk analysis and implemented an emergency response plan to aid
emergency personnel and municipal officials in dealing with
emergency situations. All individuals should consider personal and
family survival since emergency situations may impede essential
services. Past incidents such as the ice storm of 1998, and the
“blackout” of 2003 are examples of such emergency situations.
Everyone is
encouraged to have an Emergency Survival Kit in his or her home.
The Emergency Management Ontario website provides detailed information for surviving an emergency for 72
hours (3-days).
The
Town of Arnprior has developed an Emergency
Management Program Plan
