The Arnprior Airport ( formerly South Renfrew Municipal Airport )  is located 6 kilometres south of downtown Arnprior, directly behind Arnprior Aerospace Inc. (formerly Boeing Canada). The Airport, owned by the Town of  Arnprior,  is managed by the Arnprior Airport Commission.

The airport is classified as a registered airport with Customs Clearance (CANPASS); it serves both recreational and general aviation traffic; as well, it is used by: Medivac, Ontario Hydro, the O.P.P., and the Canadian Armed Forces.

The airport has a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) - Unicom frequency 122.7;  Chapman Aviation Services, which offers Aircraft Maintenance, Charter Flights and a Flying School; Mile High Parachute Club  - offers first jump courses, tandem jumps, free fall training and rigging of parachutes; Mobility Lab - manufacturing/ designing of parachutes and related equipment; St Group International Inc., and AAA Repairs which specializes in major structural repair and modifications to fixed and rotary winged aircraft.

The airport's major sources of revenue are fuel sales and land leases. Jet A and 100 LL aviation fuels are available from the land side of the airport and 100LL is available at the seaplane base. Airport staff is available for re-fueling every day of the year during normal working hours. Should you arrive after hours, staff can be contacted on pager 613-780-4720 via the Terminal phone which is accessible at all times.  If prior notice is given, staff will be on site for your arrival.  There is no call out fee. Commercial Landing Fees are minimal at $31.50 with no landing fees assessed to regular traffic.

Main Terminal Building

The  airport has created two hanger subdivisions. The first has 28 privately owned hangers.  The second consists of 16 hanger lots under construction

The airport has a number of assets which may be used for further development:

  • The Airport Commission has created a Master Plan. A subdivision located on the north side of the airport for a commercial aircraft  business/ light industrial park is in the planning stages.
  • There are facilities for both land and sea planes which allow owners to operate from floats or wheels in warm weather. Seaplanes can be tied down on land for the winter.
  • Arnprior offers rural quality of life with nearby city conveniences. There is quick access to Ottawa (20 minutes drive to the Corel Centre). This should appeal to aircraft owners looking for reasonable costs while still residing in the nation's capital. It is also attractive for commercial tenants looking for reasonable lease prices, rural quality of life for their employees, and quick access to international transportation.
  • Main Terminal Building that can be used for board meetings, seminars etc.
  • Current weather conditions can now be found by using Airport NAVCAN  cameras
